When the charm ran out of the Disney Stores, they found new inspiration from an unexpected source…Steven Jobs. Turns out Apple’s maestro, whose 5th Avenue store happens to sell more product per square foot than any other retail store worldwide, knows a thing or two about how to design retail stores that really turn consumers on. As you will discover in this video, it comes down to the Apple brand essence: keep it simple. What’s more, says Jobs to Disney, make sure the store’s displays, merchandising and overall layout sets the tone the consumer entering the store is unlikely to ever forget. Create a somatic marker that triggers the memory consumers will carry with them, and respond accordingly, every time they enter the store. Excellent advice for anyone contemplating re-engineering their own retail store. For this and other retail wisdom, the video awaits.
